The RJD Process
At RJD Projects we have a process in place so that you can feel always guided and comfortable knowing what’s next in creating your vision.
Initial Contact
We send out a project brief for you to fill out and send back to us. This helps us identify what you really need and how we can assist you in the best way possible. This also identifies if we are the right builder for you which can save you time.
Project Brief
Once we have received your completed project brief, we will call to discuss your project in more detail and work out if we are suitable fit for you. We will then arrange a time to meet in person on site for a free project assessment consultation.
Site inspection
A free onsite meeting will allow us to meet in person, go over your project requirements, assess site suitability and discuss your budget. We will discuss any issues you are having and the goals and vision you want to achieve.
Estimate
We can provide you with an estimate on the plans you have provided. We can also provide a Preliminary agreement to allow us to organise the initial process in design and build on your property. We can then consult with you, one of our draftsmen, architects, and/or interior designers to help create that end goal you have always wanted.
Site Consultation
Once you have accepted our estimate, we will visit you on site again and discuss your specifications, requirements and get a good understanding of the works. We will then explain to you our in-depth quote proposal and why it’s important to get this correct.
Detailed Proposal
We offer a full detailed proposal for a small fee depending on the size of project. The fee is an investment into your project to ensure a smooth and stress free build. If you do choose us to complete the work we will credit you back the proposal fee.
Our proposals are lengthy & well laid out and include your specifications outlined, inclusions, materials, and labour costs and itemized PC ITEMS & PS ITEMS. We want you to feel assured and comfortable knowing what to expect on your project. Every proposal is different to suit each individual project, it’s important to get this right for you and include as much details as possible to minimize any confusion or disputes down the track.
Contracts & Start Dates
We use the Master Builders Contracts as a legal binding contract between two parties. This document helps both parties understand the legal requirements and how the construction process works. Once the contract is signed by both the owner and builder, we will issue a deposit and a start date.
Construction
We will communicate with you on a regular basis, organise site meetings and can also give you access to our online portal where we can share photos and updates along the way. We can accommodate for any changes you may have along the way and work with you to achieve your vision.
Handover
This is the day you take possession of your new home, extension, or renovation. You will receive a handover kit with information on your property and we will provide you with all warranties, certificates, and instruction manuals. We will run you though your new home and before we hand over the keys, we want to make sure you are completely happy and satisfied with the work we have done on your investment property.
Maintenance
We will attend to all issues or defects in the first three months. Our commitment is to comply with all statutory warranties in Victoria. We build our projects to last test of time.
